Blog to Book

So how about turning this blog into a bit of my family history. That's what it is, right? It's not complete, but it's something. And I really want to have a hard copy of it.

Anyone ever looked into or actually turned their blog into a book? Any advice out there?

Yes, I turned the section of my blog that was about Dexter into a book, and it did not go very smoothly. It took a LOT of formatting work and was not nearly the instant book experience blurb made it out to be. So I can't say that I would recommend blurb. One of the big problems was that the pictures would not transfer well, so I had to go into my computer and find each one from my computer and insert it in the right place individually, which often messed up all of the formatting of everything around it. It was maddening. There must be an easier way! But that was nearly a year and a half ago, so maybe they've improved?? In the end, though, I was very happy with how the book turned out. It was just a TON of work. Good luck!

Have you ever checked out Picaboo? I used them to create a photo book for a first anniversary gift to my hubby. The software was so easy to use and it gives you creative freedom to choose every detail from layouts, color schemes, fonts etc. Even better once my order was complete it shipped really fast and the quality was good. I enjoyed it so much I've been working on a second one :) I don't know if it's what your looking for, but you should check it out!

I'm with Amber. I have wanted to make some physical copies of our blog but haven't yet. I'm curious what you find out!

I really like Blurb! They have a way to "Slurp" (their phrase... not mine) your posts into a book. You select what posts you want in the book, "slurp", pick the size of book you want, and TA-DA you have your book. From there you can go through every page and customize the fonts, colors, photos... anything really. It really isn't too difficult BUT it is SUPER time consuming (and addicting) to format each page just the way you want it. Good luck! Let me know if you find any other sites that are really great!
