Day 1

It's only 11:45 AM, but so far Day 1 (without Matt) is going alright. I've had a lot of anxiety about this day since we brought Parker home from the hospital. I haven't cried (yet- I don't expect that status to hold forever though), Parker is bathed and dressed, Leah is dressed and happily feeding 'Baby Leah' in her rocking chair, and I'm showered and ready for the day.

I don't expect every day to start out like this, in fact I'm guessing that this is more of an exception than the rule. That's okay though. I'm taking some very wise advise and not thinking ahead. I'm not even going to think past lunch. I'm going to happily type this post one-handed and relish the feeling of my little guy snuggling against my shoulder.

WOW, what a feat to have everyone clean, fed and dressed! That seemingly small thing (but really not) can NEVER be underestimated when there's more than 2 of you to think about!! Now, on the days when that doesn't quite happen, at least you have proof/hope that it's possible for another day. :)

I've been thinking about you so much. You are SO capable, tears included. I could usually plan on mine hitting for no apparent reason after 4 pm. But somehow, as time goes on, you start to discover that you're more made for this than you even knew, if that makes any sense. :)

NOW. When do I get to see my squishy nephew (and less squishy niece) again?? My week is surprisingly flexible...

Go you! I think that any day that you can get a shower in makes it a good day (or at least the start to one)! I love the pictures and I can't wait to see the little guy again!

Cute pictures! And to accomplish all you did before noon is amazing. And you really do have to take it hour by hour otherwise it seems overwhelming and the lovely hormones kick in! At least that's how it went for me.

Sounds like you're doing great! Leah is so sweet, feeding her baby. I think Kembry might try to feed #3 to her baby. We'll see =)

I'm glad your first day is going so well! Before you know it, life with two kids will feel normal. I think you have a healthy attitude, taking life a moment at a time. So Parker looks like a little boy version of Leah. So cute!

You are doing great, girl. One day at a time, one day at a time. Before you know it, your "new normal" will seem just that - normal. What a darling family!! Congrats again.
