Back In The Saddle Again

Hey Quinney Blog Fans, we're back online! Actually we've been back online since Wednesday, but I've been a little distracted with the whole posting on my blog thing. And even though we are back online you won't be getting any pictures from this post either. Collective Community Groan

Firstly, I would like to say I watched the Vice Presidential Debate last night and found it… intriguing. All political notions aside, is that Sarah Palin a cool chick or what? Talk about a ticket to the Oval Office. John McCain can thank his lucky stars she fell from the sky right into his campaign. She's very easy to listen to and extremely easy to believe. McCain may or may not be my vote, but he certainly chose the right running mate. Generally I found Biden to be a bit too defensive for my taste. He's very charming and elegant in the way he speaks but I felt as though he was trying a little too hard to convince me that Obama really could run this country.

Secondly, isn't this time of year lovely? I've been trying to NOT post a blog about how much I love autumn, but it's too hard to pass up. I think the best part of this season is the smell. You know when you go outside and feel that little bite of chill or when you walk down a street and can smell the fallen leaves. I love the smell of leaves being raked up. It's so earthy. Duh, of course it's earthy. You know, it's interesting to me that we have four seasons and lots of holidays within those seasons. On many blogs people post often enough about the holidays, but the season that gets the most attention is autumn. Come September 21 you'll notice tons of blogs noting how much people love jackets and jeans and sweaters along with the colors and foods of this season. Very interesting. Winter doesn't get much praise because, let's face it, a lot of people get depressed during it. Summer gets a ton of SUMMER FUN posts but you rarely hear how much people love the exhausting heat and glaring sun. I don't know why the spring gets such a bad deal though. To me spring and autumn are in a tie race. I can't decide which I like better.

And thirdly, the house is coming along. Sorta. Things are in place and most of the boxes are unpacked (minus the extra bedroom, the bookcases and storage room – but we weren't using those things anyway). Okay so only 50% of the boxes are unpacked, dang, that storage room killed my percentage. I'm having a hard time 'decorating' (if you can call it that) because we have only 1 of 5 rooms painted (and that not even including the upstairs, yikes). I'm exhausted just thinking about it. Ugh, all that taping…

All in all we're doing well and we're really happy. Leah is still adjusting to new surroundings and Matt and I just received our first mortgage statement in the mail (holy cow). We can't wait for the calm this weekend will bring with conference. I'm especially excited for breakfast rolls and orange juice. Speaking of food, I've got to bring the bread for our big family dinner on Sunday, any suggestions?
